Did we need to try and decipher cause of death?

It looks like  Respitory,  but that is just a wild guess, really.

Cause of death was a rupture  :'(

I doubt it's Rupture.  :-\

1. It's not a medical term;
2. It's surely not (in itself) fatal, it could only be a contributory cause;
3. It wasn't a sudden death as the Coroner wasn't involved.
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

Hi Geoff - my certificate copy definitely states Rupture as the cause of death. I too was surprised for the very reasons you list. My wife (a nurse) assures me though that it can be a cause of death - very rare these days but she thinks without treatment it would have been more likely back then - although we're happy be to be proved wrong. I've put a pdf at http://www.brooksfamily.name/getperson.php?personID=I1988&tree=1 which if you zoom in is fairly clear (I hope :-\ )
