Jjoojj.

have you ever been on www.findmypast.co.uk

or freeBMD on the internet.

try  the name and date of death on that site  and  see if that helps.

Dear All,

ScouseBoy: Thanks. I tried as you suggested FreeBMD, but it didn't give me anything.

Rados: Does any of this tally with other information you have?

Best wishes to you all, and merry Christmas!

I read the surname as LYON

Can you please tell us how you obtained this cert?   and what is the registration district and county?

Yes - Rados, where did you get the cert from?  Can it be scanned again to make it clearer?  Do you know the name of the deceased, at least?

I agree with others that what looks like "Lyon" is actually the occupation of the husband.  I can't read it though  :-\

Cheers

Strangely, I see "Dyson" rather than "Lyon/s" ... there appears to be another letter after the "y" ... ?
I live in Sydney, Australia, and I'm researching: Powell, Tatham, Dunbar, Dixon, Mackwood, Kinnear, Mitchell, Morgan, Delves, & Anderson

Could the occupation therefore be DYER  which fits with Lancashire and cotton.

From what I remember, before the cert was butchered, the death was registered in the Belper district of Derbyshire.
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.
