Hi Tiffaney, I have a Patrick Ross who married Janet Hutton Jan 25, 1741 in Tibbermore, Perthshire. Seeing that Alexander and Ann's first daughter is named Janet,  and the year of marriage is prior to Ann's birth, it may be the right marriage.

  You'll have surely noticed there's no mention of Ann in the above children. I find this however:

I think, not sure but think, this Isabell Hutton is Janet. I find no other children for a Patrick and Isabell, nor do I find any marriage for them.

Hey there. I have no idea how old this conversation is - i've just registered with this site. I am a decendent of Peter Galletly and Betty Moncrieff's son Alexander who married Margaret Gray. Their daughter Margaret Galletly married my great great grandfather Joseph Manning.

My wife, baby, and I are planning a trip to the UK this spring (UK's autumn) and want to visit Perth to see where my ancestors were from. I would love to know where to go to see some of our shared family history - whether that be an abbey, a residence, or a cemetary. Any help or ideas are most appreciated

Have you looked at any early census entries for the family in Scotland? This looks like the family in 1851:

With Alexander showing as a widower in 1851, Margaret Snr looks to have died after Margaret's birth and the census date of 30 March 1851.

In 1841, the family are showing as living at Cranloch, Scone, Perthshire. Margaret Snr's age showing as 35. With the normal rounding on ages on the 1841 census for those over 15, her birth year would have been between 1802-1806.
