Surname CASSENCE
« on: Tuesday 21 December 10 11:39 GMT (UK) »
I hope someone can assist in this problem.

I have found that Mary Ann Silversides married a James Cassence in Jul 12 1858, Bethnal Green.

The name has been transcribed as cassence, but i cant seen to go back through the census or even forward by searching the name, they did have two children James Henry born 1858 and George 1862, which have also benn transcribed as cassence.

Has any body came across the name before, or any ideas what it could be?

Thank You

There are no birth registrations for James Henry 1858 or George 1862 under Cassence

Where is it you have seen the children?
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

Hi,

Thanks for the quick response, i did find both baptism records for the children on Ancestory, the problem i have is i cant find any of the family in future census records, i have no knowledge of who James Cassence parents were, only his father from the marriage certificate, which i also found on Ancestory. i have looked at the certificate many times, and i  am not convinced its Cassence, i think its been transcribed wrongly. If you look closley it could be Calfence, but thats not given me any census records.

Thanks again for your efforts in my plight.

David

Have you tried on ancestry just putting in child's name and parents, date of birth plus or minus 2 years, born London and see what it comes up with

The bapt for 1864  is for Henry James transcribed as Cassenchs
There is also a William Cassence birth reg Dec qtr 1868  St.George in the East free BDM

There is a private tree on A.... researching your Cassence family.
