Hi Jo  I have over eighty DEWAR inscriptions but not yours
Robert Hunter & Ann Dewar was the only family I could find
on The IGI in Kinghorn
so assuming that was where the DEWARs might be from there
I have have included this one

   In Memory of James DEWAR  died 2.6.1933 age 73
   wife Janet ELDER died 13.5.1934 age 70
   daughter Janet died in infancy

Shame you didn't have any, but you're correct...they come from Kinghorn.  I just listed the ones that settled in Kirkcaldy.

James Dewar and Janet Elder are indeed mine...so thanks for that!  The age ties in with the James and Janet I asked for, and now I have Janet's maiden name too!

Could you please tell me please if you have anything on the below?

I have family from Abbotshall
John[died april 1837] and Euphemia BLAIR [Dec 1848] and they lost a child in 1814

and from Kirkcaldy
James and Margaret SYMON. I don't know when they died. It was before June 1849. Margaret had her last child in 1814 and James was still alive in Nov 1835 when his daughter married, his abode then was Kirkcaldy. He was a gardener but his son was a stone mason. I am hoping there maybe a headstone.

His son Robert and wife Christian [Christina] lost 6 children [3 boys and 3 girls] between 1830- 1849. One was buried in Feb 1846 in Wemyss parish.

John BLAIR and his wife was Euphemia CLERK[Clark]
James SYMON and his wife Margaret CAMPBELL
Robert SYMON his wife was Christian[Christina] BLAIR this couple left scotland with 4 children but lost 6 [3boys 3 girls] before they left.
