My GG grandfather Peter McGovern died in Dysart in 1906. Is he on your list by any chance?

Hi Bill sorry nothing on my index,
checked the 1881 census but no McGovern in the
Dysart area at that time

Norrie,

Perhaps you can help me with a brick wall.  Andrew Fowler was born 1790 in Abbotshall (and died in Dundee in 1853).  I have found no record of his parents.  Do you have any Fowlers buried in Abbotshall (or nearby) between 1790 and 1840s?  Sorry for the lack of forenames, but I am stuck!  Thanks in advance for your kind assistance.

Regards,
Craig

Hi Craig sorry not going to be much help,
There are Fowler Headstones in Abbotshall but only from the late 1800s
also checked the other local Cemeteries but no luck

the IGI only gives 1 marriage in Abbotshall for an Andrew Fowler

Father: Andrew Fowler, Mother: Margaret Reid married 3.10.1819 Abbotshall is this him?
with these children

1. JEAN FOWLER - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Birth: 31 DEC 1821 Abbotshall, Fife, Scotland

 2. BETTY FOWLER - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Female Birth: 31 JUL 1820 Abbotshall, Fife, Scotland

There is nothing on 1841 Census

Norrie,

Cheers for the lookup.  That is my relative, and those are his daughters.  The family was in Ruthven on the 1841 census.  Andrew was an overseer for a jute mill.
Are there any records extant for the dissenting churches?  I know there were quite a lot in and around Kirkcaldy.  Also, do you know of any apprenticeship records for Abbotshall / Kirkcaldy / Kinghorn?
Once again, thanks for the assistance.

Regards,
Craig

Hi Max    yes I have photographed Old Kirkcaldy Parish Church Cemetery, and parcially indexed it. I also have the inscriptions I think by the Mitchells which will help to fill in the blanks in the older Headstones.
Who are you after ?
