HEADSTONES in Kirkcaldy Cemeteries(Part 1)

I see by your surname interests that you have Kinnears listed.  I'd be particularly interested to find out whether my gt grandfather, Alexander Kinnear, b. Innerleven 1872 (son of Alexander Kinnear & Isabella Rodger), died 23/11/1908, coalminer, might be buried in any of the relevant cemeteries?

If there are Kinnears anywhere, in fact, I'd be curious to see whether they may be connected; there are other related names, too, but I'll concentrate on these, first.

My great grandparents lived in High Street, Kirkcaldy and died as follows:

William Spence died 18/8/1922
Annie Spence (nee Cowan) died 12/12/1918

Have no idea whether they'd have had a headstone or not but think it's possible. Have you any details of them please?

I've been unable to find any birth or baptism for Bert Herdman.  There are some thoughts within the family that he may have been born in Stoke on Trent.  I've searched the GRO indexes but have found no trace up to now. 

Jack will check the local papers for 1968 to see if anything on his death was reported

But Family Tree program gives Alexander 1872 as my 4th Cousin once removed so I assume you must also be connected,  welcome  to our family

My records show that Alexander was born 22 May 1871 in Wemyss
And died 1908 in Ballingry age 38 (Can’t find Death Certificate )
And he married Elizabeth Baird in1893 and she died in 1966 but not sure
As I can’t find death on file

At 3.30 pm to which all friends are invited. No letters or flowers

So glad did not have to check Hayfield Cemetery, as its was
cold and raining this morning.

I managed to get a copy of  the report in the paper which
I  will scan and send direct to you.

Thanks for that and for the photocopy of the press report.  The middle name "Rodger" was a surprise so there's another line of investigation.

Looking at the weather forecast, perhaps you should leave Hayfield until the spring.
