Great Torrington PEARCE Margaret b abt 1815
« on: Monday 20 December 10 04:17 GMT (UK) »
First of all, thank you so much to this group which has helped me with my 'brick walls'!

And now . . . I am looking for the baptism record of Margaret PEARCE b abt 1815. She married Richard HOLMAN in Mar 1848 in "Barnstable"  but I have no other information about her.

If anyone can help, I would be most grateful.

Thank you
Neil

If you obtain a copy of the 1848 marriage certificate, it will confirm both of their fathers' names & occupations.

Thanks DOB7

When I come to confirming dates, people and places I always use certificates or other primary sources. For initial exploration, I prefer transcriptions or registers which kind people make available to others on line.

As I live in Canada, one certificate can take as much as a month to reach me. The method I use enables me to make much faster progress and to order certificates in batches of 10 which also has the advantage of saving on postage. The certificates are then checked against reported data and any discrepancy rectified before the certificates are scanned and filed.
