The V numbers look like NSW reference numbers

for the Early Church Records held by NSW BDM... ie before civil registration. eg
V1852508 (110/1852) Elizabeth Barnes
"V" as in volume, V
1852 as in year of the event V1852
508 line 508 of that volume (
110/1852) being volume 110

The contents of these "Volumes" are on film at NSW State Library, NSW Records Office etc and most of the info on them is being transcribed and seems to be appearing on the beta version of familysearch (also was on the IGI version too) ... Sometimes you may think there's several people with the same name being registered in the one year ... Not necessarily so .... there's the V for their local parish, then there's the V for their local parish's quarterly return to their HO, and if the person was military, there can even be a V for their regiment's record too........
V1852508 (110/1852) Elizabeth Barnes So, in 1852 an infant named Elizabeth Barnes was buried and that was recorded in volume 110 and at line 508. As it is a burial registered (and not a civil death) you won't get much more info from that record ie you should NOT expect to find the names of the parents noted on that specific record. At this link is a brief summary of NSW BDM holdings and their history
