KILLED BY ANONYMOUS LETTER
The receipt of an anonymous letter is said to have caused the death of Mrs.
Freegard (76). of
Bremhill. Wiltshire. who died two months after her marriage to her third husband. Mrs. Freegard's second husband died early last November. After a very brief courtship Mr.
Jacob Freegard proposed to her and was accepted on Christmas Day, and they were married at the village church on January 17. The bride-groom had also been twice married before, and had celebrated his golden wedding with his second wife. Mrs Freegard's health had always been good, and her friends believed that many years of life lay before her. A few day after her wedding, however, she receive an anonymous letter, which said :- "You might have paid your late husband's funeral expenses before buying a wedding dress. If you don't die, the blaze will run away with Jacob." The letter greatly worried her. She began to suffer from heart attacks, and finally died, a victim, so her husband declares of the anonymous letter-writer.
