There are Freegard's in Australia but some names, dates & any possible state/city/town in Aus for them would be helpful for us to find them for you ::)

My Husbands Freegard relatives came from Calne, Bremhill in Wiltshire.

Is this the area that your relatives came from

Hello,

Thank you all that have replied and to answer all of you, i am looking at the freegard family as they originated from germany i think about 15-16 century and came to the uk and settled in wiltshire.
I think the earliest name i do know of was from about 1670 Frances Freegard married to a Mary, before this i have not researched.
Most names are from around Calne,Bremhill area but i know of some that went to Wales, Birmingham,Leicestershire and some from Preston area.
Although i have others dotted around the uk, Wiltshire is the most likely of my information i have and that i know of several that left uk to live in Australia and New Zealand.
This information is sketchy as i have only found about 2 or 3 records to date.

Marpatch yes to your question,
and i see Garnet john born 1881 Sept of Charlcutte, Wiltshire i have record of him but did not know he left the uk.
He is the son of John Freegard and Katherine Freeth, this would tie up some answers as i found a Samuel Freeth Freegard born in Australia so would expect him to be the son of this family.
Mary Freegard is more difficult to track down but i do have a Mary on my tree from 1844, daughter of Thomas Freegard and Mary Matthews, not sure if same person as rest of this family stayed in Wiltshire.
Thanks Janet for those names, i do not know of MR C.P Freegard just yet but will try and find this name at some point.

thanks again azurich

Hello Merlin,

I did find that Samuel Freeth 1883 Calne married, Lucy Eleanor Keren Happuch Freeth in Kensington 1883 so it is Possible that the Samual Freeth i found of 1911?uk or Coolabunia, Queensland married to Ruby Perrett is this family connection.
If it is not then it would be parents John Freegard and Katherine freeth but i am not sure which, both are related by the way, so it does not matter which i have.
Family of Samuel and Ruby are 4 births from Coolabunia, Queensland born between 1940-1945, names hidden now as they may still be alive.
I know the record and consider it probably correct, thanks sorry for publishing names for a while but did not know of 100 year rule.

I have another connection but have not found this yet on my tree.

Thanks Azurich
