Would anyone know if the Magilligan Presbyterian  Church has a burial register and if so when would it have started ?

It's been mentioned earlier in this thread that Presbyterian churches usually don't keep burial records and it's doubtful whether any for Magilligan do exist. Many Presbyterians are buried in Church of Ireland graveyards (however, sometimes they are not recorded in C. of I. burial register).

Hi,
   As mentioned earlier in this thread Presbyterians, especially in the north of the parish, used to walk along the shoreline at low tide to attend services at the Presbyterian church in Articlave before Magilligan Presbyterian church was built.

When you said Presbyterian church in Articlave did you mean First Dunboe Presbyterian Church ?

2-Solomon MOODY b. 1776

3-Elizabeth b.? and died

4-Robert MOODY b.c 1777? died Magilligan by drowning at the Strand in 1839 with William LAFFERTY

5-Alexander MOODY b.c1778 and died

6-Nancy MOODY b.1784 and died at Lenamore in 1865 unmarried

7-Israel MOODY b.c1789 m. Elizabeth CASKEY d. 1867 in Kings Co., Nova Scotia (his death record identifies his parents as Alexander Moody and Priscilla above)

8-James H. (poss. Henry? of Cashel, Co. L'derry, Nor. Ireland whose son Thomas Moody m. Mary GAGE?) b. between c1787 and c1795)

also possibly a son named William MOODY was born to this family as well.

         Yes, 1st Dunboe Presbyterian Church is in Articlave. An interesting point about the walk along the shoreline before the current road was built is the cliffs at Downhill. These come right to the shoreline at this point and at high tide or during storms Magilligan would have been cut off from Articlave ( pronounced Articliff)

I don't think your moodies went to dunboe moody isn't a name you'd find around here.. before checking dunboe check ballykelly i was checking mines and found them there i also remember seeing loads of moodies in that register and they went very far too 1690s!
