1861 Scottish Census - Scott
« on: Friday 17 December 10 07:47 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone tell me if there is a David Scott born 1844 in Arthuret (Longtown) Cumberland in the 1861 Scottish Census, possibly living in Perthshire.  He may be listed as an apprentice stonemason.  Thanks

there are lots of david scotts around that age, but none I can see at first look that were born in England.  Most in the Perthshire area but all listed as being born in Perthshire.
McIntyre and MacInnes, Argyll (mostly Glencoe, Ballachulish, Oban)
McGillivray, Robertson - Sleat, Skye
Sandilands, McNaughton - Abernethy, Perthshire
McCartney - Glasgow, Northern Ireland
Rafferty - Northern Ireland
Doig - Fife

Thanks very much.  He's a very difficult ancestor, shows up in the 51 census and then disappears until his marriage and then disappears again.  I'll keep hunting.  Much obliged. ;)
