Hi Lesley,

The place names don't ring a bell, but a Susannah Carpenter married my GGGrandfather at Newland 1825.

Here we go:-

Robert Carpenter 1755 - 1837. married to Susannah? c1756 - 1837.

Their children:-

William 3Feb1788 Tintern
Susannah c1789 Tintern (Not registered) (My GGGrandmother)
Robert 1791 - 1805 Chapel Hill, Newland
Mary 1793 - 1864 Chapel Hill, Newland
Ann 1796 - ? Lydney
John 1797 - ? Lydney
James 1800 - ? Lydney
Richard 1801 - ? Redbrook

I did have some interesting correspondence with a youg lady from Carpenter family then residing in Channel Islands.

I also made some peripheral notes. Phoebe Carpenter bapt. 6Apr1823 Taynton and another one 13Jan1840. A Phoebe Ann 14Jan1844 Newent.

Last para. may be of best help for you.

Regards,

Roger

Hi Tralee,

I don't think so. As I said, my Robert Carpenter died 1805. However, Carpenter was not a very common name, and it might be worth keeping the people I mentioned in mind.

Regards,

Roger

Hi Roger
Thanks for taking the time to post your Carpenter interest.  I haven't come across a Susannah as yet, but all the Phoebe's you mentioned are in my tree.
All the best with your research.
Kind regards Lesley
