Good Morning
Any help would be great regarding this
I have Queenie Ashdown Dec Q 1916 and must be a twin sister Ivy born to a mother Glover. I also have a Joseph Ashdown who would have been about 18 when Queenie was born all from Tonbride and Malling area of Kent I cant seem to locate a birh for him there was also a brother Jack born c 1909 I found a death for Ivy 1918 I have also found marriage for Harriett Glover  and Fred Ashdown c 1916

My question is who were the parents of Harriett Glover and Fred Ashdown and where does Joe/Joseph fit in to this.

There is a marriage in Malling district, June 1916

Frederick C Ashdown to Harriet Glover.

Buying the marriage certificate would be the best way to start, as it will show fathers names.

1911 census shows a 16 year old Harriet Glover in Malling district.

There are 4 or 5 Fred Ashdowns that could be your man.

Harriet's father was Stephen Glover [1864-1937] and her mother was ELiza Tanner.  Whilst ona recent trip to Kent, I found Harriet's grave in Platt churchyard, where she is buried next to her brother Stephen. They died only 6 weeks apart, and I have often wondered what the causes of deaths were, and why she was buried next to her brother and not with her husband. I do have photos and alot more information about her family if you want it.

According to a WW1 discharge paper, a Frederick Cyril ASHDOWN age 23 in 1919 lists his next of kin as Harriett ASHDOWN of Upper Platt, Borough Green, Wrotham.

Stephen and Harriet Glover were buried next to each other in Platt churchyard as they died only 6 weeks apart in 1941.

Stephen Glover died after falling off a roof. I do not know the cause of Harriet's death.

Thank you for that Phyllograptus  - I did wonder if they both died of something contagious when I saw their graves, but obviously not.
