Yes Terri - sent you a PM...as I am confused as it seems that there may be more than one of them?

I have been in touch with Golleys in SA plus I intend to back check a possible Morrish/Morish connection there as well in the near future.

Thanks...James M

Hi Jack . My mother came from Pt Lincoln also. Her parents were Mary Alice Maud Golley and Victor Vaino Haapanen.  He was also a friend of Axel Stenross and arrived in Pt Lincoln in 1922 on the 'Port Caladonia'.
family rumour says that Mary had quite a reputation for 'playing up' -possibly even with Axel. The large Golley clan married into the Danzic, Berryman, Waters, Kean, Bascombe and Lindquist familys
My great Aunt Myra Ethel Ann Golley (1902-1957) who lived and died in Port Lincoln South Australia, married a Gus Linquist.
There-in lies my dilemma.
All I can find is an Ernest Gustaf Ferdinand Linquist who died on 7 Nov 1955 in South Australia. I am hoping this is my "Gus".
I believe there may have been a daughter named Lorna Linquist.
Any help please?
Would love to hear form you Terri, My mother's maternal mother was Mary Alice Maud Golley but I have not been able to name her father. I know it was not Victor. She was born in 1939 and died in 1996. She visited Pt Lincoln when her paternal mother passed away but I don't believe she found any answers. I had the name Axel Stenross as a lead ( not from my mother ). You are obviously a 1/2 cousin and I would love to hear from you   Regards Wendy

I wonder if this 1942 divorce notice would help you...on grounds of adultery and the person is named.

Thanks cando... Yes I found that. Was really exciting. My grandmother certainly lived a wild old life. i have been finding even more children she had (and adopted out when they were born) and I'll be meeting a new cousin i have found when I go to Adelaide in March for some research
