Hallo Lu,  yes I know there are errors on the Turley Tree, its easily done because he copies down from other treees that may have errors. I am on Genes Reunited where entries have been wrong, but I cant correct if two branches are connected, you have to delete all the way back to the start, no thanks.
Yes Abraham and Jabez were brothers 1817 and 1835 and were sons of another Abraham b.1785..They keep going till the end dont they....Terry

Hi Spades,  thanks very much. I see bits in the newspaper but am not successful finding the boat. Althea has sent lists now so I may make some progress. But the big hurdle has been crossed now because it has been proved that Jabes is my relative
He would be the brother of my g.grandfather

Hi Terry

Jabez HEASMAN and Mary Ann (THOMAS) his 2nd wife, married on 26 December 1869 at Trinity Church, Marylebone, London.

Their 1st child, daughter Mary Ann, arrived just over a year later - born at Christchurch NZ on 28 December 1870 (her birth was registerd in 1871).

Hi again Mestalla (Terry)

Gosh, I just re-read my reply # 8.    ::)

Sorry  ... I should have done a much better job at explaining.    ;D

The dates we have (from official sources) - marriage, London, 1869, and birth of child in Christchurch 1870 - mean that Jabez and Mary Ann HEASMAN travelled to NZ ....

between --  26 December 1869 and 28 December 1870.

So that narrows your search, considerably.    :)

~   Lu

Mestalla

The "Mary A." quoted above, is from my HEASMAN  family - born London 1841, and the older sister of my g-g-gran.
(She was escaping from her husband in Melbourne and travelled to Hokitika using her maiden name. )  :D
