Catherine was born around 1808 in county cork. She went at some time to england, leary is her married name.whilst in england, her husband died as when she was listed to come to australia  it stated she was a widow.  She was convicted at surrey in 1839 for stealing and sent to australia.I  know its not much but any help would be a help.On marriage cert here in aussie they did not put details of parents names.
Thanks for any help given
Kim

Cork is the largest county in Ireland with numerous parishes, so you will probably need to establish a bit more detail to start searching for the baptism or a marriage of Catherine. e.g. maiden surname, religion, father's name or parish. Note that not all parishes have records going back this far.

Some Co. Cork (west county and city) RC parish records are available on www.irishgenealogy.ie

If you can get Catherine's death cert. there may be information on it about her parents & home place. Many Aus. death certs have valuable genealogical information. However, given that her parents weren't mentioned on the marriage cert it's possible that she didn't divulge that information. Had she children? One of them would most likely have been the informant & it would depend on what she had told them.

Leary/O'Leary is a very common name so would be extremely difficult to trace without further information. Also many of the church records don't go back as far as 1803.
