I am trying to get information about the shooting of 2 Auxiliaries in Grafton Street on 24 Jun 1921. I guess shootings were so common by then that they did not make the same news impact as earlier, and I am having difficulty getting much on this shooting
My page, such that it is,
is on this link All I know is
1. Two auxiliaries were shot, Appleford and Warnes
2. I think they were shot by 4 men including Paddy O'Connor - I have seen his Witness Statement referred to, but have not read it. It was apparently a 2nd battalion operation.
3.They were coming out of an unnamed cafe in Grafton Street. A newspaper report mention a "woman in blue" being involved
4. It was said to be " part of a larger IRA operation" and I have no idea what this refers to.
Any further information appreciated.
