Francis' middle name was De Montford his last name was Culpin.
He was born 27/9/1900 in Wandsworth, Surrey and died in 1987 in Lambeth, London.
His parents were George Francis Culpin (1861 Hitchin) and Florence Sarah Newman. They married in the 2d quarter of 1905. In the marriage index you will find Florence's last name is registered as Culpin as well, probably since they had been living together for years while George was still married to his 1st wife Kate Sherrington. Kate died in February 1905.
Francis' full siblings were Ivy Annabelle Culpin (1897-1899) and Verula Mary Elizabeth Culpin (1906-1995). His father George had had 5 daughters with 1st wife Kate so they were his half sisters: Mabel Sherrington Culpin (1884), Edith Gwendolen Culpin (1886), Norah Bertha Culpin (1887), Margaret Florence Culpin (1891) and Sarah Kathleen Eliza Culpin (1891).
Francis was known as Florrie as a child. You can find him in the 1911 census as: 10 years, living at NO 4 STANHOPE ROAD ST ALBANS, Hertfordshire with parents (married 5 years) and sister Verula.
Francis married Ada Dorothy Louisa Worsfold (1900-1996) in 1922 in Willesden, London.
He was awarded the American Bronze Star for his services in the RAF in WWII: AMERICAN AWARDS TO BRITISH AND COMMONWEALTH PERSONNEL, 1942 TO 1949: CULPIN, Francis de Montfort, SL - Bronze Star - 461015 - RAF [15/10/1946]
