Just did a bit of a "Google" and came up with this:-

CULPIN, Francis de Montfort, SL - Bronze Star - 461015 - RAF

The entry was on a list of American Awards to British and Commonwealth Personnel 1942-1949.

He was an Acting Squandron Leader.  I think that must be RAF.  There is an extract from The London Gazette on Google but am struggling with the link at the moment.

I  hope its the same person  :-\.

Still struggling with the link but according to the London Gazette he was given this Bronze Medal by the President of the United States on Tuesday, 15 Oct 1946.

In 1891 he is living on Albert St, St Albans

There is a tree on A******y suggesting that Sarah Florence's maiden name was Newman but I can't find anything to confirm that at the moment.
