Iam interested in your ROLLO and BROWN connections.
Can you tell me who & where they are from?
regards
Margaret.

I am at the point with the Rollo's that I am not really sure they are my Ancestors or not, but the info I have on them is solid enough.

David ROLLO married Jean HAY on 21 October 1742 in St.Andrews.
Their children were:
Thomas      b. 10 September 1743 in St.Andrews
Catherine   b. 14 March 1744/45 in St.Andrews
Robert        b. 15 May 1747 in St.Andrews
Jean           b.  25 August 1751 in St.Andrews
John           b.  5 March 1754 in St.Andrews
Catherine   b.  28 September 1756 in St.Andrews
Isabel         bapt.  28 September 1766 in Kemback,

Isabel married James Robertson on 19 December 1789 in St.Andrews.
I think that their son Thomas was my 3xGreat GrandFather born 10 August 1799 he later married Isabella Brown on 15 December 1832.

Isabella's parents were, Thomas Brown who married Agnes Brown (Yes that is her maiden Surname) on 31 July 1795 in Edinburgh.  They moved to St.Andrews where all their children, John, Agnes, Isabella &  Peter were born between 1803 & 1813.

Hi Robert,
For some bazaar reason when ever anyone enters a link to:
a space appears between Lost & Cousins.

Even when written in such away that it is not a link like
lostcousins dot com/?ref=LC53294

If anyone knows how to fix this glitch can they please let me know so that I can carry out the repairs to my Signature.

Regards & Best Wishes

scrumsrus,

I usually look at Fife posts - but your bizarre BLUE (shades of Billy Connolly) posts are just a bit too much for me.

Perhaps others may also be deterred by the colour?

Cheers,

JAP ;D

I am tracing the Morrison family from Burntisland, Fife.

Alexander Morrison (baptised 30 october 1795 Burntisland)  married a Helen Garnoch.   They had a son James Morison baptised 6 January 1833 who later
emigrated to Melbourne, Australia.

It is likely that James emigrated with other family members.  Andrew Morison a relative went down with the "General Grant" off the coast of New Zealand.

if you have any information on the Morrison/Morison family of Burntisland it would be much appreciated.

Thanks, marp

The web links should have no spaces.

http://www.lost cousins.com/?ref=LC53294

or

http://www.lost cousins.com/

Copy these links, and remove the spaces. I can only think that RootsChat software introduces the space using an automatic spell-checker, probably on the word cousin.

Hi Andy
re the Hay family,  I'm trying to learn more about my Edinburgh and Rosyth family who I never knew. About all I know is that my grandfather Peter Hay married Eliza Aitken June 4, 1897 in District of St. Giles, Edinburgh.  They had three children; James, Jessie and my father Peter who was born July 7, 1906 Forrest Hill, Edinburgh.  Eliza died (when/where?) and grandfather Peter married Mary Alexander and lived on Backmarch Rd. Rosyth with their two children Gretta and Stanley.  Grandfather Peter died April 6, 1939.  I have several photos' if these people are of interest to anyone.
                                  Sincerely,    Peter Hay

Hello Marp, I have often wondered who the Andrew Morison that went down with the General Grant was, actually I should say consoled myself with the thought that my missing Andrew (yes with one R in those days) was 'probably' him and that's why I can't find him. Obviously not  :)

How did you discover this or is it family lore?

regards,

Lindsay
