Hi Cal,
I am sorry but I can't help you with your request, but would appreciate it very much if you could answer a question.
I am looking for information about William Edmund Greenwood and his wife Linda May Blythe (William's father Thomas was a brother of one of my great grandmothers)

So Cal / Peter .....William Henry Blythe was originally an Engine driver before he took over the pub ...his son in law
William Edmund Greenwood took over the pub....

I wouldn`t be surprised if William Henry Blythe and Thomas Greenwood ( Porter ) worked together at the likes of Lime St station....and were mates....

this is 3/4 Great George Place and was a pub called The Lord Warden ??...I think ..any scousers help me out here,,anyway this would be roughly what number 17 would look like

Thanks very much for your quick replies - all of the records you have found are part of the puzzle. What I would like to find more about are two things:
 - William Edmund Greenwood, wife Linda May and son Eric Darling left Liverpool in 1901 for the US. On the passenger list is noted "returning home" - the 1901 census has a note that William E. was a US citizen, but I have no idea how or why. His son, Eric appears to have died there, and his son William was born there, possibly in New Jersey.
 - The second question is what happened to this family after 1911 - did William E. settle down as a dining room proprietor?

Linda May Blythe was my Great Aunt, I know that she stayed in Liverpool and she owned a 'Holiday Home' in Chester, my mum and dad used to go there when they first got married in 1953. Im not sure what happened to William Greenwood, or the Cocoa Rooms they ran.

In 1909 there were two pubs in Gt George St:  The Banjo at 38 and another, unnamed at 93.  In Gt George Place there were The White Lion at 33 and another unnamed at no.1.
Any help?

By the way Allan, baptised has only one B in it!

William Henry Blythe was my Great x2 Grandfather, he was born in flintshire in 1849, his father was Edmund Blythe...His Grand father was John Blythe. John was a publican who owned a pub called 'The Honest Man' in Flint...it is still there but is now called 'The Lletty Hotel.William came to Liverpool and married Eleanor Welsh Darling in 1872. they had 2 children (Walter and Linda May) Linda May married William Greenwood, Walter Married Ada Jackson. Walter and Ada had a son Leslie(my Grandfather) William and Linda had three children Eric,Doris and William. William Henry and his son Walter ran cocoa rooms in Great George Place (16-17) William and his son both died in 1908. Linda and William took over the Cocoa Rooms along with Walter's widow Ada. They were still running the Cocoa Rooms in 1911, I don't know what happened after that except that Linda lived her last years in Liverpool.
