Hello Lis, thank you so much for your reply. I think it's best if I give you what I have.
My Elizabeth Knowler m. John Mapested 1752 in Wye, he came from Challock, in the PR's for Challock which I researched at Canterbury I found an Elizabeth c. 1739 dau. of John and Sarah Knowler, then I realised that this Elizabeth would have only been about 13 in 1752. [ I know it was possible for marriages to take place at an early age then] However I found another Elizabeth c.1723 in Crundale dau. of Henry and Mary, and she seemed to fit better agewise, this would fit with the marriage of Henry and Mary Hudson, but I also found these other c.
Mary c. 21 August 1720 Wye
Sarah c. 28 August 1726, Crundale
John c. 5 March 1732, Waltham

also death of Henry husband of Mary buried 26 July 1736, Waltham.

so it seems that Mary 1720 may have been the dau. of Henry and his wife Mary Kingsnorth

Elizabeth and Sarah dau's of Henry and Mary Hudson

John in Waltham, was he the son of yet another Henry and Mary? is it possible that they are all the same Henry and that his first wife Mary Kingsnorth died and he then married Mary Hudson. my head is going round in circles!!!

Any thoughts on this would be  most greatfully received..........Brenda

I think I'm having senior moments, these Knowlers are getting at me!!!

If Elizabeth and Sarah were c. 1723 and 1726 it's more likely they are the dau's of Henry Knowler and Mary Kingsnorth not Mary Hudson

Well I think Crundale Eliz Knowler fits very well here.

In my list of Knowlers/Knowles there is no other Eliz suitable.

In a situation like this we can't ever be sure and I just keep in mind this is the most likely Eliz and keep my eyes open for another.

Have you tried the pilot search from the IGI and see what that brings up.
Also I do not know where henry & Mary(kingsnorth) were having their children, they are not in Kennington. Just seen your last post yes I missed that too, so I think you are safe with Eliz in crundale and mary Hudson as mum.

And I presume you have John Mapseden's  spelling? in Challock Henry & Eleanor, it looks as if he and Lizzie Knowler were the same age

Yes, I have the parents of John, I sat in the CC Archives and copied out 2 large pages of this family and similar names, so I'll now go and have a look at my notes again.

Thank you so much.....Brenda
