Annie there are definitely NO children to Martha and THORBURN.
I have just edited my reply #11 to add a George William b 1858 Fryers Creek { mother was listed as Martha BRIDE} and the first Samuel's death. All of them have Robert Newton SCOTT as their father. with the last { Sam the 2nd} being born 4 years before his mother remarried to Andrew THORBURN in 1876. Makes me think there must be a family connection somewhere as Andrew Thorburn SCOTT was born to Martha and Robert in 1869.
 Maybe Andrew was Roberts best mate and Robert and Martha named a son after him. 
 Martha would have been 44 when she and Andrew married.

ADDING The death indexing does actually show the fathers name in this death to be ANDREW THORBURN {Age 68 Year 1938 # 9918}

Hi Everyone
I just answered all your wonderful work and tried to attach a photo of the illusive "Lily" - however - the whole message got lost somewhere!!! Can't get the hang of "attaching" on RootsChat.
All the information you have found is fantastic. The name "Thornburn" now has relevance and it looks like the little girls are buried with their grandfather.
You have also saved me the cost of buying the certificate of the death of an Alice Scott in SA - I thought it was a good shot.
Below is the message on the back of the photo.........can anyone see any clues there???

Did you get a letter from me last week with PM 10 shillings in it? I feel a bit anxious as I did not get a letter yesterday from you. I received a letter from SA yesterday. He is in Kimberley. I will send the letter on to Granny when mum sends it back.
