Hi Adey,

It looks as if the Richard Cardiff in Bulgan could be the Richard Cardiff in Walshestown in 1901 and 1911.

Would the Richard Cardiff age 17 (born c.1884) of North Main Street in 1901 be your Great Grandfather, or maybe yet another Richard Cardiff?

Hi Adey,

I have found more of my Ryan notes. I have a list of birth Civil Registrations from the District of Broadway for 7 births to Richard Cardiff and Catherine Rossiter from 1868 to 1882.

Addresses listed are Hilltown, Rathspillane, The Faythe, Tachumshane and finishing in The Faythe in 1882.

Richard born 2nd October 1874 in Rathspillane.

You probably already have these, but if not let me know and I will post them up.

Regards

13.2.1870 William Cardiff, at Rathspillane. PAB Richard Cardiff father, Rathspillane, Labourer

31.3.1872 Thomas Cardiff, at Rathspillane. PAB Richard Cardiff father, Rathspillane, Labourer

8.7.1882 Catherine Cardiff, at The Faythe, PAB Richard Cardiff father, The Faythe, Labourer.

I hope these are of help to you.

The Ryan family I am interested in were born in Kisha to Michael Ryan, a MILLER and Farmer, and Elizabeth Larkin.

Twins Annastasia and Bridget were born in 1888
Mary Kate in 1889
Catherine in 1890
Johanna in 1894
John James in 1896

Michael Ryan was just a Farmer in 1894 & 1896.

I think I should point out that Faythe, mentioned above and The Faythe also above might not be the same place. Faythe, (Irish for Green or Playing field,) is in the Civil Parish of Tacumshin, Barony of Forth. It is in the area near Kisha and Ballyhit, whereas The Faythe is one of the oldest streets in Wexford Town, a good few miles from the Broadway district.

I forgot to mention that there were also Cardiffs living in The Faythe area. They were a seafaring family . Perhaps they were someway related to you too.?
