Ida Mae/May Thomas

Looking for information on Ida Mae/May Thomas b. 15 Sep 1875 Pittston, Luzerne Co., Pa. and d. 12 apr. 1943 Ca. ?

Her parents were Isaac Thomas b. 9 feb. 1838 Wales and Anna Jenkins b. 29 Apr. 1840 also Wales.

The 1900 census shows Ida married a James or Jones abt. 1897 and had one child, but she is living with her wd. mother, no mention of husband or child.  Who was the husband and what happen to the child??
1930 census shows she is wd. and still living with her mother and one sister.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Ida shows on the 1900 Census with her mother and married to a James/Jones  ???

Ida May James/Jones 24 Born Penn Had 1 child and 1 survives. (no child in the household) Married 1897. Weaver in silk mill
Charlotte Thomas 21 Born penn, Weaver in silk mill
Gertrude Thomas 18 Born Penn. Weaver in silk mill
Sterling Davis 19 Born Penn


ADDED Just for reference and to show Ida reverted to maiden name and with her Mother and sister on the 1930 Census. May help others looking.

Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne, Pennsylvania

Anna Thomas 89 Born South Wales. Widowed. Immigrated 1855. NA
Idona Thomas 54 Born Penn. Widowed. Clerk at boarding house.
Lottie Thomas 50 Born Penn. Single.

Hi Sandra,
 Yes, I have that info., but again the trail goes cold, I do know that by the 1930 census she is listed as Wd., and I did find her with her mother in Ca. right before her death.
But I still have no clues on her husband or child. Thank you for your help.

You may want to try searching around on www.genealogybank.com, which has some Wilkes-Barre newspapers from the early 1900's.  It's a subscription site, but you can see a portion of the newspaper from the search results without paying.  I looked through it a bit, and there seemed to be some possible references to your Thomas sisters.  Maybe something will turn up about Ida's husband or child.
