Dolly Godfrey
« on: Wednesday 01 December 10 13:30 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,
Looking for information about a Dolly Godfrey b. bet. 1776-1780 in Ma.

She married Royal Coleman, he was b. 5 Mar. 1778 in Athol, Worcester Co., Ma. They had two children that I know of: Royal H. b. abt. 1811 in Ohio, Herkimer Co., N.Y., and Rebecca b. abt. 1816, also in Herkimer Co., N.Y.

I'm not sure if "Dolly" was a nick-name or not,  I've only found one census report that had a Sarah Coleman with Royal, but I'm not sure if this is Dolly or a second wife. Any help with this family would be a great help. Thank You.

Yes, I saw that, but I haven't been able to find anything on who her parents were. Thank you.

Not alot of information around  and this could be something and nothing but there was a family of Godfrey in Taunton. Massachusetts.  Found this piece on a General George Godfrey so thought it was worth a mention. It gives the names of some of his sons born 1754/56/58 - could be worth a look to see if there might be a link to Sarah/Dolly. One of those sons Rufus had a daughter in 1810 which he called Dolly  ???
