Hi Maree,
We were all new at this at some time

It is good to hear you feel your mystery is solved

I noted this interesting little discrepancy and thought you may like it for your future reference.
You will know the marriage of BLANCHE to THOMAS COADE took place in 1868 #699.[Listed above in the thread, I think.]
This is the birth of their only registered child-

Here is the death of the man I think,( though the death age and birthdate do not tally)

When ELIZABETH ANN (NICHOLLS) PEMBERTON died in 1920, a death notice was published and it listed her children.
Walter J., Sam V., May (Mrs Trim), Jno T., Jos E, Fred W. Charles E. (NZ)THOS E., Mary T (Sydney),
Ted E (Colac) (is this Edward James Elgin?) I do not see a birth in that name to the couple.
Stella Pritchard (Stan) Ruby (Mrs Reid).
So, a few possible reasons for this listing of parents at the death of EDWARD PEMBERTON...
The informant was misinformed.
Perhaps WALTER and ELIZABETH (NICHOLLS) had a child with the same name and we have not spotted it in the indexes.
ELIZABETH (BLANCHE's older sister) and WLATER took over the parenting of the child for some reason and EDWARD JAMES ELGIN believed they were his mother and father as he grew up.
