Francis McLaughlin born about 1938
« on: Wednesday 24 November 10 16:34 GMT (UK) »
Am looking for my family history on my fatherīs side.  His name is Francis McLaughlin, he was born about 1938 in Glasgow.  He was a family of 13, I know he had sister called Rose as this who I was named after (my middle name).  He married my mother ** in Oswestry in **.  They met at army naffy in Wales.  His children are **, **, ** and myself Denise.  We were all born in the 1960īs in Aberdeen.  My birth certificate states that my parents home address at the time was Dyke Road, Knightswood Glasgow.  This was in **.  I think my fatherīs mother is called Elizabeth but am not really sure of this.  My family tree goes back to the 17th century on my motherīs side but am completely stuck on the McLaughlin side ... it is such a popular name, especially in Glasgow.  Any info would be greatly appreciated ... I have tried ScotlandsPeople but have used up all my credits checking many possibilities and as I am not 100 per cent sure I do not want to start researching incase I go down the wrong family.    ???

p.s. I have attached the only photo I have of Francis McLaughlin with his 2 sons **

He died, I think in the 80īs ... he is not a living relative.  I am looking for his ancestors (also my ancestors) to add to my family tree.  But, thank you for your info.

Regards
Denise

I removed details of possible living people (yourself, your siblings, etc.) since Rootschat policy doesn't allow us to put on details of possible living people.
If you'd like to trace your father's family back then it should be fairly straightforward. I think Welsh marriage certificate list father's name and occupation- details you might not have yet.
Scottish certificate have much more detail than England or Welsh ones so if you get your father's birth certificate it should list the names of both parents as well as the date and place of their marriage.
