Trying to locate the grave of my ancestor William Middlemiss who died 2 February 1865 at Muirtown, Kincardine, Parish of Blackford. Hoping this might lead me to other members of the family. Can anyone help?
Thanks Diane

Hi Diane, as you have the date of death, name and parish, I would try the burials dept at Perth council. I have never contacted them but have found the equivalent at Dundee council very helpful in finding graves in Angus (just next door to Perthshire). I'm afraid I can't find a number specifically for the burials dept but they should be able to put you through.

This page on Genuki gives the local of burial records for Perthshire. As Blackford seems to be held by the Crieff office, they may suggest you contact them, but I would try the council first.

Good luck
