Hello,
I am a Czech by birth and my military historian friends from Prague are finishing a book about the fallen Czechoslovak soldiers of the 1st Independent Czechoslovak Armoured Brigade in the UK.
The book is illustrated also with the photographs of their headstones.
We are missing one, namely of Karel (name) Gavel (surname), of Czechoslovak Army, T2545, who died on 3rd Aug 1945 at the age of 30 and is buried in Astwood Bank Cemetery NW of Tower.
He has the white CWGC headstone.
Would any of you on the Forum living nearby be so very kind as to take a photo of the headstone and forward it to me?
In return, I can do similar service to you both in Czech Republic and in the Ypres Salient.
Thank you ever so much! Milena
