A bit of a long shot but Moneydie is more of a hamlet than a village and I wondered if anyone keeping an eye on this slot might have any Wightons on their tree. I have a James Wighton, farm grieve, of Pitlandie farm, Moneydie married to a Mary Smyth from Meckphen. Does that ring any bells with anyone.
McNaught, Robertson, Wighton, Duncan, Dawes, Fyffe, French, Getty, Herdman, Jelly, Gourlay, Vickers, Armstrong, Ruffell.

I AM LOOKING FOR INFO ON THE PEARSON FAMILY I CAN GO BACK TO 1753 TO A THOMAS PEARSON
THERE ARE STORYS THAT WE CAME FROM SCOTLAND / IERLAND BUT CAN NOT FIND ANY INFO FOR HIM
I CAN FIND HIM IN CUMBERLAND IN 1790
ANY ONE WITH ANY INFO

Hi just came across this post.....James Wighton born 1809 and lived at pitlandie faarm was my great, great,great grandfather.

Is he in your tree??

James Wighton was actually born in 1808 and although he died in Abernethy he lived most of his life at Pitlandie and he was my great great grandfather with 10 children.
McNaught, Robertson, Wighton, Duncan, Dawes, Fyffe, French, Getty, Herdman, Jelly, Gourlay, Vickers, Armstrong, Ruffell.

My father was Perth Franklin Pearson, supposedly named by his paternal aunt.  I can trace his lineage through 8 generations of Georgian's in the USA stopping with John Pearson, born 1780....We believe our ancestors were Scottish, and Perth seems like an odd name for a child, unless there was a historical connection.  Are there records of John Pearson's emigration to the US after 1780 through 1793?
