At risk of sounding a bit like a 'wannabe' has anyone doen and research on Kate Middleton's family from Wakefeild Yorkshire. There is a Middleton pedigree back to William Middleton (b Wakfefiled YKS 22/9/1807) to John & Ann Middleton at
http://www.wargs.com/other/middleton.html. From there, I found a John Middleton married Ann Beckett (1806), a John born to John & Martha (1787) a John married to Martha Hampshire (Warmfield 1781), John M to Robert M at Warmfield (1757), RObert M married Elizabeth Ward (Wakefield 1749), Robert M to William M (Featherstone 1727), and William M to William at Featherstone (1780). Then it gets a bit stuck, but there is a William to a Peter M back at Wakefield in 1670, and several families of Middleton at Wakefield and Normanton from 1620 to 1680.
There is a 1551 property fine at Wakefield for John Pek, esq. Henry Middelton, son and heir of Brian Middleton, gent. Messuage with land in Wakefeld and Sandall, in which Ann Middelton, the widow of Brian Middelton, has a life interest.
Andm before that, it is back to Sir Peter Middleton (b 1455 of Wakefield) marr Catherine Vavasour before the family moved to Stockeld, 20 milies to the north.
I would be interested in linking the later Wakefield Middletons to the earlier ones as they are very very distant relatives via an ancestor Bridget Middleton (dau of Sir George Middleton of Middleton, Westmoreland) who married James Constable.
