« on: Thursday 18 November 10 10:06 GMT (UK) »
Hello

Trying to find any information on my nan Annie Bashford who got married in 20th Jan 1920 age 20 to Walter Turner her marriage certificate states her father is William Bashford desceased General Labourer, living at 8 Little Randolph Street. St Pancras, London. Witnesses Minnie Platt, and John Turley?, i never met her as she died before i was born, but is supposedly from Gypsy. Spanish descent, but dont know whether that is true or not.
Any help would be brilliant.
many thanks :)

I am bit bothered in case we go off in the wrong direction but she is the only one I can see in 1901 census with a father William.
There are no deaths though that I can see for the right aged William 1901-1920.  :-\

Looking at earlier censuses (for any Gypsy/Spanish descent)

1891 RG12; Piece: 602; Folio 107; Page 39
William is with stepfather Thomas Booker and mother Charlotte and siblings

1881 RG11; Piece: 786; Folio: 88; Page: 5

Edward Bashford 32 yrs Private 109th Regiment of Foot b Crowhurst Surrey
Charlotte Bashford 28 yrs b Portsmouth
William Bashford b Aldershot

That's odd - I was just looking for further information to help you and came across your family tree with all this information  ::)

It would help if you would post what you already have and what exactly you need. Your post gives the impression that you know nothing and I feel as though I have just wasted my time.  :(

Hi
What i have is Annies Parents as Alice Turvill 1881 - 1950 and her father as William Bashford 1881, was trying to do more on this tree, this morning, but nothing seems to fit now, so am starting again as i think i have gone wrong. Its Annies mothers line i am trying to do, the trouble is i lost most of my notes in a house fire, so cant remember where or how i found the information i have. Just want to make sure i get it right. I wouldnt want to waste anyones time.

many thanks

I'm sure you wouldn't - it was when I noticed the Turville name, I wondered whether the witness may have been a Turvill.

Your tree is on Ancestry anyway if you need to look again.

So, are you now unsure about Annie being a Turvill/Bashford?

Hello,

I think i am having a blonde moment ???, was getting muddled with Charlottes name being Brooker, and was looking at William Bashford as Annies brother not father . I am trying to find info on William Bashford and his wife Alice, and Charlotte Bashford (Brooker) also have her last name on my tree as Satchell but i have no idea where i got that from as i lost all my records, these are the ones i am having trouble with and keep coming to dead ends. Thought i had found Alice in a workhouse in Portsmouth when she is 6, but nothing more then that no parents etc. :)

Hope that makes sense :-[

many thanks
