I am researching George (Charles) Stewart McLennan b 1883 in Edinburgh, d 1929. He joined a Gordons recruiting station at age 16 on Oct 3rd 1899 and joined the 1st Gordon Highlanders. In 1905 aged 21, he was Pipe Major of the 1st Bttn. He served in the trenches in the latter part of WW1. He was discharged from the Gordon Highlanders 1922. His father John had also been in the Gordons (Lieutenent). The father died in 1920. I would like to see George S McLennan's Army Service record as I am trying to ascertain his height. Even his father's record might offer a clue. I can locate English and Welsh records, but how do I find service records for Scots who joined up in Scotland? Thank you for any clues/help.
