Brackenbury - Nottingham
« on: Wednesday 17 November 10 18:03 GMT (UK) »
Hello all,

Hoping to find out what cemetery the following individual maybe buried in -

Dorothea Sophia Brackenbury (née Short) - died third quarter 1914 in Nottingham. She usually went by her middle name so her death record is under Sophia Brackenbury. If it helps she lived on Clare Street (11 I think) in 1913.

Any help would be most greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi

Yes it was number 11, confirmed via Wrights directory. Clare Street still exists and is off Upper Parliament St, Nottingham, (Nottingham City), check Bing maps (Clare Street, Nottingham). I would guess she was buried in the General Cemetary, Nottingham, or one of the church cemeteries. Contact the Cemetary Officer at Nottingham City Council.

I hope this helps.

Thanks - I think the cemetery office is one of the places I tried and they have no record of her (at least at the cemetery they checked) - May be worth asking again to see if they can check other cemeteries. If it's a church cemetery, I'm not sure they would have records, but would anyone know - given where she lived, what would have been the closest church? Perhaps the church may have the funeral record.

Thanks again!
