Hi I am wondering if anyone can help with finding the birth of David Joseph Jones born about 1854 Llanbiody
In all his census returns he down as just David Jones but all certificates of marriage and birth of his children he has the full name of David Joseph Jones

He married Martha Woodruffe Bartley in 1876 at all saints church Lllanelly
Father John Jones  a Farmer

David Joseph Jones is a Drapers assistant on marriage certificate, and in 1871 census RG10/5430 he is a Tailor in Neath aged 17

I have a David Jones in 1861 census RG9/4138 with John Jones Farmer and a mother Mary Jones in the parish of Langynogi.
 Managed to get a birth cert for his sister on the census Charlotte because only 2 weeks old 1861 and not that many  Charlotte in bmd, which gives the the parents as John Jones, Mary Jones formerly Lewis John Jones is a Farmer at Langummock.
But I have left the family tree for the summer and found no references to parents any more when ordering a birth certificate as you can imagine a lot of David Jones's
so was wondering if the is any advice or a look available

Hello 

Llanboidy would be Carmarthen registration district (in Carmarthenshire County) so that helps narrow it down a little. Have you found the marriage for his parents? As Mary was born Llanfihangel Abercywyn and daughter Ann was born there, they probably married in that Parish.

You could contact Carmarthen register Office:
Email: registrarsATcarmarthenshire.gov.uk

They should be able to find the correct birth record for you as you know David's birthplace, his parents names and his Father's occupation.
