Kavanagh Marriages in Thurles

Hi Looking for help in searching for the Marriages for the following People. Edward Kavanagh born 1865 married Mary Kenna born 1861, had 4 children, John Kavanagh Married Eliza Maher, i cant find marriages for the rest of the siblings who were, Michael Kavanagh born abt 1889, Edward Kavanagh born abt 1891, Bridget Kavanagh born abt 1893, would like help to find out who they married.

Have you checked the 1911 census to see how many years they might have been married?

Could this be Michael and Edward in 1901 at boarding school?

Could this be Bridget in 1901 and 1911, boarding school and then service?

No sign of Michael and Edward in 1911 census, suggesting they were outside Ireland.


On the LDS pilot site I see a birth for Edward K July –Sep 1891 Thurles Vol 3 p 470, and a death in Thurles Jan – Mar 1921 Vol 3 p 403. Might be your man. If he married the informant might be his wife.

None of this tells you who the 3 married but gives hints as to where they might have gone.


I see a birth for Bridget K Jan – Mar 1893 Thurles Vol 3 p 495.

Too many Michael Kavanaghs to be sure but there is one possible b Jan – Mar 1889 in Thurles Vol 3 p 515.

Wow, thanks for that, regarding Edward and Michael in the Boarding school, they did have a brother called John Kavanagh who was born in 1886, but he was not with them on the census ?
i will check out the LDS pilot site as i have done many many times but not found any info, if i have problems i will let you know, thanks again John Kavanagh.

Hi, Time has moved on since the first post.
This site........Civil records from 1864, births up to 1920 and deaths...just luck if you find any earlier.
Marriages 1840ish to 1944.

Edward Kavanagh and Mary Kenna (listed as Kinna) married 1882.
You should be able to track all the info from there.

Edward's death as a bachelor aged 30 on 2nd February 1921 at Stradavoher. His mother Mary was the informant.
