Thanks Rambler,
I had Mary Thornley as his wife, but not the marriage details or where George & Mary were born. One more piece of the puzzle and should help me find a few other details. See you are in Manchester, I actually have a Manchester connection myself my GG Grandfather Samuel Thickins became an orphan in Manchester (Addington Street) with his younger brother Richard. Charged with burgulary in Liverpool and transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania Australia) 1846 where he established the Thickins line in Tasmania and Victoria. Manchester Historical Society tells me they had no knowledge of a Thickins family born in Manchester, yet there was quite an extended family of them (Salford area mainly). I have tracked most of them. They tell me any I find are mine. Manchester Collegiate records have been a great help.
Thanks so much for going to that trouble, Sue
this is probably a brother of Samuel and Richard Thickens
