This picture is of my grandfather! My Grandmother was Annie Routledge. I have a couple of very similar ones of him with his biplane. My Father was Rex Roe who did indeed become and Air Chief Marshall in the RAF and was twice knighted. I would be fascinated to find out more about the family, including the connection to AV Roe - was related to my grandfather I believe.
Maggie
My daughter & I stumbled across this message and thought you would like to know that my grandfather Christopher Edward Routledge was brother to Nora, Annie & Alfred, therefore making him and Rex cousins. Christopher married Dorothy Maud Drewitt and they had two children my father Peter and his sister Maureen, making them cousins to Bryan.

Hi, my father Brian gave me a load of photo's of the Routledge family.
A lot of them I have no idea who the people are, perhaps you might know.
I have pictures of the house in Southport where my grandmother and you grandfather's aunt Sarah Elizabeth (know as Liz I think) lived with her sister Aunt Nellie.
Also pictures of a man who I hope is Frederick Arthur, Chris, Nora, Annie and Alfred's father.
Perhaps we can share info.
