LANDSEY in Somerset

I have been researching  the Landsey family, I have found Robert Landsey born @1811 in Charlynch Somerset, and have unconfirmed parenys for him of William Landsey and Barbara Seymour, I wonder if anyone can help me out with any Parish Records for the Family, it would be very much appreciated,Thankyou

Sadly, it appears there is a gap in the Charlinch marriages 1780-1838.  However, if you enter the LANDSEY surname in the online catalogue search facility below, you will find at item No 4 reference to tenant John LANDSEY of Over Stowey for Bush Farm, Charlinch in the late 18th - early 19th Centuries.   http://www1.somerset.gov.uk/archives/Catalogs.htm

There was a marriage by licence at Over Stowey 28 Mar 1793 between John LANDSEY and Sarah MORLES [Boyd's index gives the variant Sara MORLESS] and there are 3 Estate Duty wills listed on the SRO website that might provide some links.

The surname is a bit unusual but it appears likely there may be transcription errors as numbers countrywide fluctuate somewhat between censuses.

Am I right to assume you have accessed Robert's Service Record with the 68th Regt of Light Infantry?

So going by dates the Marriage to Sarah MORLES/MORLESS dee-jay found looks a possibility.

As the only census Robert seems to appear on is the 1861 and only John 1846 +Lavinia 1859 are born in England. Roberts Wife Joannah who is born Scotland means they may have Married anywhere.
As this has Robert born c 1811, Charlinch is may be incorrect as he has a much younger Wife he may have dropped his age a little!
Lavinia Lanseys 1859 Birth Cert will reveal Joannahs Maiden name (if you do not already have it)
Then the Marriage to Joannah may be able to be found which will hopefully have his Fathers name and occp on it.

In 1841 I found Robt LANDSEY Corporal at 68th Depot in Chester Barracks with recorded age 'rounded down' to 25.
