MAITLANDs - Blandford pre 1861
« on: Monday 11 April 05 00:43 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for my Maitland ancestors who lived in Blandford, particularly :

James & Elizabeth Maitland (probably born around  1790 - 1810) and their children, especially George (b1836), John (b1839) and James (b 1829).

William and Mary Maitland (probably born around  1790 - 1810) - William is listed as a shoemaker in an 1850 Directory.

James Maitland and his wife Letitia (nee Baker) who may have been the parents of the above. Letitia was born in Cheselbourne in 1773.

I can't find any trace of any them in 1861/71.

Any info. on these, or any other Blandford Maitlands would be good.

Thank you

Thats all the Maitlands in Blandford Forum at that time.  Sorry I can't give you the addresses but at least you know who was there now

Good Luck

Thanks for this - since my original post I've traced the Maitlands through the census and parish records and posted an update message on 24 March this year.
