I would like to draw people's attention to the section marked "Trees". This plot is poor ground and there are hundreds of paupers buried in this section. Glasnevin has rezoned this for new burials on top of the ones already interned there. Burial's have already taken place here.

My Great Grandmother and her daughter are buried at YN 109.5.  I do not see a YN on the map and it is near the trees.  Two of her other daughters and thier husband are in the plot next to hers, this is a marked grave although my G Grandmothers is not.  Will these be reused as we do visit them?

There were never any headstones errected in the plot marked trees. It was cleared a few years ago and maped out for new burials.

Thank you Hugo!

This is a huge resource of information giving names, ages, addresses, and in some cases marital  status, occupation and who arranged the burial.  The transcript is supplemented with a scanned copy of entry in register book and  for the later ones, this includes some additional information.

I have now been able to pin down two further generations of my family tree bringing it back to 1760, quite chuffed needless to say given Irish resources.   :) :) :)

Glasnevin Cemetery

An earlier post shows a plan of Glasnevin cemetery but unfortunately it is only mainly the western side. A pamphlet, published in 1904, has a plan covering the whole cemetery on the last two pages. You can see it at..........

http://ivrlaprod.ucd.ie/fedora/get/ivrla10-:4249/ivrla10-:objLayoutbDef/getLayout/

there is a bit more information on the previous pages.
