ROBSON and FOSTER/FORSTER

Does any kind person know the parents of William Robson and Maria Foster who married 24 Feb 1862 at St Mary Carlisle.
He was born abt 1338 at Hexham.
She was born abt 1836 at Stanwix Carlisle
We have found 6 children but no parents for William and Maria

I hope you mean born 1838?

I found a William Robson in the 1841 census, born Hexham 1838, Father James b 1811 Hexham, Mother Mary b 1816 Hexham
ROBSON, Hebburn, Hexham & Newcastle
BAINBRIDGE, Hebburn & South Shields
KELLY, Gateshead, Walker, Ireland
EATON, Gateshead
GIBSON, Byker, Newcastle, Tynemouth
BAMBROUGH, Byker, Newcastle, Tynemouth

The only thing is that census for 1841:  HO107/840/8 folio 8 page 8 says neither James nor Mary were born in Northumberland

There are so many Robson's in Northumberland it might be best to get the marriage cert and find out what his father's name was.

I had a quick look at the baptism for that particular William today

Sept. 10th 1837 parents James and Mary, James' occupation labourer

But I'm with Janis on this - there are too many Robsons around to be sure and the 1841 does not give places of birth - just whether born in county or not.  It also rounds down all adult ages to the nearest 5 years.

Best to get the marriage cert.
