Go back thru some of the postings on Spink or Arbroath, Google Bell Rock Lighthouse and you will find plenty of information .. not forgetting Scotland's People.

The only Spink that I am aware of who came to New Zealand was Rose Barbara Jane Spink in 1874 daughter of David Spink and Margaret Grant.  Can give you plenty of information and what flows from there.  You will need to prove a family connection first.

Wish you luck

Hey folks
Interesting posts/comments in this thread.
A New Zealand descendant of David and Margaret Spink here.  I found this Facebook post regarding David Spink and the Bell Rock Lighthouse. Copy and past the following link to read the information available.     https://www.facebook.com/ANGUSaliveMuseums/posts/4212409135511814/

Also pasted text here below FYI:-
"Mr. David Spink was born in Arbroath in 1820, his father William Spink was a Seaman for the Northern Lighthouse Service. David began work as a Light Keeper at the Bell Rock in the January of 1850, leaving for Girdleness in the August 1856. In 1857 Mr. Spink was transferred to Pentland Skerries at the southern tip of the Orkney Islands.
Over the course of his time in the service of the Northern Lighthouse David spent time at the lighthouses of Stornaway, Ardnamurchan, Covesea Skerries, Ruvaal and Isle of Ornsay before he retired in 1884.
Mr Spink passed away in 1886 at 59 Ladyloan, Arbroath. Margaret Grant Spink his wife had this fantastic head stone erected in David’s Memory at the Western Cemetery of Arbroath. As you can see it appears to show the Bell Rock Lighthouse encapsulated by David’s initials D S.
To find out more, come along and visit Signal Tower Museum, Ladyloan, Arbroath. #Museum #Arbroath"
Also a photo of his headstone is attached FYI. Hope this helps others that may still be researching.

Hi,

Welcome to RootsChat, I have to say I am not sure how you can complete the Spink family!
Just trying to unravel my own Spink - Cargill links.
I am intrigued by the photo, don’t quite see how it can be David Spink, died 1888.
I don’t think the photographer was open then and the mount looks Art Nouveau.
   Would welcome others thoughts.
Unless it is a remount / reprint?

   Happy Hunting.

Hello David

I have never attempted to solve or complete the entire Spin k family history, particularly the Spink - Cargill links.

I have twice visited Arbroath in 2013 and 2015, including the Arbroath Abbey and the Bell Rock Lighthouse Museum.  It is a long time ago now and I forget now where I sourced the photograph of David Spink.  That may have come from earlier posts on this thread.

Enjoy your research.
