Irish/Scottish Connection

I'm hoping someone can assist me in linking my Scottish/Irish ancestry. My G/father John King married my G/mother Mary Ann Coyne on 26 Dec 1890 in St Margaret's Catholic Church, Loanhead. Both were born in Ireland 1872/1873 but no details of the County where born. Understand parents were Stephen King/Sarah Folan and Michael or Hugh Coyne/Margaret Coyne. Any help will be appreciated because to date, even with search of Dublin Registry Office nothing found.

Have you tried the 1891 census for them as I discovered an Irish ancestor, living in Scotland who then moved to England{Cotton Weavers}, the census stayed he was born in Co. Down which gave me a head start as I had no idea where in Ireland they came from.

The Irish civil registration index is online (free) but you'll probably need more information to find these families-

Have you tried searching all possible Scottish census records to see if the rest of the family (especially parents) also moved to Scotland?
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Peter, the release of the 1911 Scottish census is now not too far away (Spring 2011). If the English/Welsh 1911 census is anything to go by, you might find more precise birth places showing for their entry. I am sure you have John and Mary Ann's census entries for 1891/1901 where they only show an Irish birth place. I see that Mary Ann's mother, Margaret Coyne, shows with them for both censuses.

Thank you for all your help & suggestions.
 I have pursued all the usual channels & have marriage & death certs as well as census details for 1891 & 1901 for G/parents. I also have death cert & census for 1891 & 1901 for GG/mother but, in all instances it only shows Ireland as place of birth.
Hopefully 1911 census will show actual place of birth which will narrow the search area consideably.

Thanks again & if anyone has a flash of inspiration please let me know & I hope I can be of assistance to someone in future.
