Swiss immigrant - OESCHGER
« on: Monday 08 November 10 09:50 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone have any information about Frederick Oeschger from Switzerland - first appears on birth certificate of his first child 1874 5 Noel street, St Pancras. Not on 1871 census but I found a Frdk Oeschger on passenger list SS Cuba Liverpool to Boston - says labourer whereas he was a Master Cabinet maker [born abt 1847]. Did he go to US first. Can follow his whole life from 1874 to his death in Hammersmith 1926 as quite an eccentric. He had 12 children by Emma Payne but never married. The name was later amended to Oscar and another researcher of one of his siblings says her grandfather was called Payne. Does anyone have any ideas  as I have been trying for years without success. Thanks Fayetta
