From information in your previous thread  http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,427317.0.html , I have done some investigating!

Charles Riach married Martha Hastie Brodie on 31st Dec 1902 at 123 West Port, Edinburgh.

Charles was 32, a bachelor and a Rubber worker. His parents are given as Charles Riach, a postman, deceased and Mary Riach, maiden name Paterson.

Parents' names tally with those that Carole found on the 1881.

Martha Hastie Riach (nee Brodie) died in 1949 at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. Her usual residence was given as 173 Dundee Street, Edinburgh. She was 70. Her son James Riach was the informant.

Charles Riach died 24 July 1953 at 173 Dundee Street, Edinburgh. He was a retired Rubber Varnisher and aged 85. Parents as marriage info. Again,  son James was the informant.

The Scotlands people site www.scotlandspeople.gov .uk shows the birth reg of a James Paterson Riach, Edinburgh St George in 1909.

There is a death  showing for James Paterson Riach in Haymarket, Edinburgh in 1991, aged 82
