Just to clear things up a bit, the Quebec barracks at Wooton did not start to be built until 1938, and was not fully finished until the end of WW2 when it really started its association with the Regiment. It became a Pioneer Corps barracks in the 1960s being renamed as Simpson Barracks.
Thus, it does not seem to have been involved in William Palmer's history with the Northamptons.
